Join us for critical conversations about how the current mental health crisis is impacting youth and those serving in youth ministry. National mental health advocate and educator, Rev. Dr. Sarah Griffith Lund, author of Blessed Youth: Breaking the Silence about Mental Illness with Children and Teens, will engaged, guide and inspire us in our time together as we reflect on what we are experiencing in own contexts as relates to the mental health crisis, conversations about what the best brain science is saying about the role of spirituality and mental health, and equipping us to prioritize our own mental health while we also empower youth to be mental health advocates.
Participants will have time for small group conversations, learn about the risk factors for LGBTQ+ for suicide, strategies for suicide prevention, and a panel of experts will share resources inspiring and equipping participants to join the movement for mental health with hope for our collective healing. The panel of experts, includes Samuel Neil Byrd, Director, Office of LGBTQ Resources at Yale; Sanya Chiraroekmongkon, founder Rising Youth; and Frank Gregory, Solnit Superintendent, Behavioral Health Community Services, Department of Children & Families CT. Rev. Dr. Lund will be available for book signing and consultation conversations.
