Youth, Christian Worship, and Joy: Deeper Soundings

Fred Edie is Associate Professor of the Practice of Christian Education at Duke Divinity School. His research interests include exploring the relationships between Christian worship and Christian identity, creating rich contexts for the formation of Christians, and constructing “full-bodied” epistemologies. He is the author of Book, Bath, Table and Time: Christian Worship as Source and Resource for Youth Ministry.

Alaina Kleinbeck has served youth ministries and organizations in suburban St. Louis, urban Houston, and Norway. She holds degrees from Concordia University Nebraska and Duke Divinity School. She is passionate about including young people in all aspects of life in the church, developing faithful Christian practices within communities, and listening to and empowering the voices of those who are silenced in society.
